Rate
The fee for a 53-minute session is $180.
Payment is due at time of service and is payable by credit/debit/HSA/FSA.
I have a limited number of reduced rate openings, based on income, for those facing financial hardship. If you think you might qualify, please let me know.
insurance
The only health insurance plans I am considered in-network with are those that run through First Choice, which includes some Kaiser plans (First Choice Options or Access).
For all other plans, I am an out of network provider, but most insurance companies provide partial reimbursement for therapy. I will provide an invoice or superbill with all the information you need to obtain reimbursement. Please ask if you have any questions. I am happy to help guide you through the health insurance process. Some initial questions to ask are:
1) Do I have out-of-network benefits?
2) Do I have a deductible and if so, what is it?
3) What is the maximum number of visits per year?
4) If there is no reimbursement, can I set up a “single-case agreement”?
5) What is the out-of-network reimbursement rate for procedure code 90837 (53 minutes individual psychotherapy)
Note that if you do choose to bill through insurance, I am required to assign you a mental health diagnosis, which will go on your permanent medical record. For this reason, some people choose to pay privately, even if they have insurance that might cover therapy.
If using insurance, our initial appointments will include exploration of your symptoms and experiences, and discussion of the assessment and diagnostic process.
cancellation policy
Your appointment is held exclusively for you. If you need to cancel an appointment, you must provide at least 24-hours notice to avoid being charged a late cancellation fee of $180. There are, of course, exceptions for extreme personal, family or medical emergencies.
